About
Kausik Ghosh is a Research Associate in the Department of Mathematics at King’s College London, affiliated with the Theoretical Physics group. His research focuses on conformal field theories (CFTs) and bootstrap methods. He holds a PhD from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore (2020), and has held postdoctoral positions at IISc and the Physics Laboratory of the École Normale Supérieure (LPENS), Paris.
Education:
- PhD in Physics, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (2020)
- Postdoctoral Fellowship, LPENS, Paris (2021–2024)
Research interests include the Conformal Bootstrap, Defect CFTs, and S-matrix Bootstrap. He developed non-perturbative numerical approaches using analytic functionals, improving convergence in 1D/2D CFTs. Current work extends these tools to higher dimensions and defect CFT applications.
Publications highlight advancements in bootstrap techniques, such as analytic functionals and outer approximation algorithms, with applications to crossing symmetry, S-matrix bounds, and AdS loops. His work bridges theoretical physics and mathematical methods, emphasizing symmetry and numerical optimization.
Advising/grants: No advisees listed, but active in collaborative research projects within the Theoretical Physics group at King’s. His research is supported by postdoctoral fellowships and institutional grants.
Labs/teams: Member of the Theoretical Physics group at King’s, focusing on supersymmetry, string theory, and related areas. Previously affiliated with the Fields, Gravity, and Strings group at LPENS.
