Katy Vecchiato is a Clinical Research Fellow and PhD student at King's College London (KCL), affiliated with the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience. She is based in the Department of Forensic and Neurodevelopmental Science and works at the Centre for the Developing Brain (St Thomas’ Hospital) within the Developing Human Connectome Project (dHCP). Her research focuses on pediatric neurology, epilepsy, and the application of advanced MRI techniques to predict treatment outcomes in childhood epilepsies.
Education: Medical Doctorate (MD) with completion of pediatric training in Italy (2017), followed by a PhD program at KCL starting in 2018 under Dr. Jonathan O’Muircheartaigh. Her doctoral work investigates MRI applications in childhood epilepsies.
Research Interests: Paediatrics, Neurology, Epilepsy, and Medical Imaging. She has contributed to pioneering 7T MRI research for focal cortical dysplasia in children, demonstrating advancements in diagnostic and prognostic capabilities.
Lab/Affiliations: Active in the dHCP and Centre for the Developing Brain, collaborating on neurodevelopmental imaging projects.
