Katy Meadows

Katy Meadows is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Indiana University Bloomington, affiliated with the College of Arts & Sciences. Her research focuses on ancient Greek philosophy, particularly Aristotle’s metaphysics and Plato’s ethics, with an emphasis on causal priority in Aristotle and mythological dialectics in Plato’s Laws X.

• Ph.D. and B.A. in Philosophy from Stanford University

She contributes to collaborative projects like the Open Plato Project, currently working on a translation and commentary of Plato’s Alcibiades. Her recent publications include studies on Aristotle’s Metaphysics Θ.8 and Plato’s use of myth in ethical discourse. Meadows also explores interdisciplinary connections between ancient philosophy, metaphysics, and epistemology. She maintains regular office hours in Sycamore Hall 113 for student engagement.
