Katrin Mueller-Johnson is an Associate Professor of Criminology at the University of Oxford's Centre for Criminology and a Research Fellow at Green Templeton College. She holds a PhD in Human Development from Cornell University, a MSt in Legal Research from the University of Oxford, and a Dipl. Psych. from the Free University of Berlin.
Her research focuses on cyber-victimisation, particularly sextortion, online threats to public-facing professionals (e.g., police officers), and vicarious victimisation of law enforcement personnel. She also investigates investigative interviewing techniques, legal decision-making in cybercrime cases, and child abuse investigations. Her work has been funded by AHRC, ESRC, EPSRC, and others.
Teaching includes modules on research methods, quantitative data analysis, and psychology in legal contexts. She supervises DPhil and MSc students in cyber-victimisation, crimes against vulnerable groups, and legal psychological topics.
