Katrin Kinzelbach is Professor and Chair of Human Rights Politics at FAU, co-directing the MA Human Rights program. Her research examines human rights implementation, academic freedom measurement, and digital rights, with regional expertise in China.
Research encompasses human rights futurology, transnational repression, and the Academic Freedom Index—a global dataset tracking academic freedom conditions worldwide. She collaborates with Yale University and the V-Dem Institute.
Honored with the Deutscher Studienpreis for doctoral research on EU-China human rights dialogues. Previously served on Germany's Advisory Board for Civilian Crisis Prevention and as UNDP consultant.
