Katja Doerschner

Katja Doerschner serves as an Adjunct Professor at the National Magnetic Resonance Research Center (UMRAM) at Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey, and concurrently holds a faculty position at the Mind Brain and Behavior Center of Justus-Liebig University Giessen, Germany, where she leads an independent research group funded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation's Sofja Kovalevskaja Award.

Dr. Doerschner's pioneering research investigates visual perception mechanisms, specifically how the brain transforms ambiguous retinal input into coherent perceptual experiences. Her work centers on identifying the information sources the visual system uses for object property prediction and neural extraction processes. Methodologically, she integrates psychophysics experiments, computational modeling, pattern analysis, neuroimaging techniques, and patient studies to advance understanding of visual cognition.

Her scientific contributions have earned significant recognition:
