Katie Towler

Katie Towler is an Assistant Professor at the University of Northern Iowa in the College of Education, specifically within the Department of Educational Foundations & Professional Experiences. She also serves as the Western Iowa Student Teaching Coordinator in a remote capacity.

Her educational background includes:

• BA in English with a minor in Religion from the University of Iowa (2000)
• MAEd in Educational Counseling from the University of Phoenix (2004)
• EdS in Educational Administration from the University of South Dakota (2012)

Katie specializes in Educational Leadership, Career and Technical Education Program Management, School Counseling, English, and Communication. Her work focuses on preparing future educators with an emphasis on relationships, compassion, high expectations, professionalism, and flexibility. Prior to her current role, she served as a high school principal at the Sioux City Career Academy, where she mentored aspiring teachers and observed their practical application of classroom learning during internships.
