Katie Spragg is a practicing artist and educator at the Royal College of Art, where she teaches within the School of Arts & Humanities. Her work bridges artistic practice with community engagement, specializing in clay-based works that incorporate animation and installation techniques.

Her research interests explore the intersection of material practice, critical theory, and community engagement, particularly through clay as a medium for social connection. Spragg's work investigates how tactile materials can facilitate dialogue around health, memory, and community wellbeing, with a particular focus on dementia care through her Clay for Dementia program developed with the Garden Museum.
Her recent projects and exhibitions demonstrate a consistent engagement with British ceramic traditions while pushing contemporary boundaries through animation and collaborative practice. Her work shows a trajectory from traditional ceramic forms toward more experimental, socially-engaged practices that incorporate multiple media.
