Katie Jenkins

Katie Jenkins is a Tyndall Centre Research Lecturer at the University of East Anglia, specializing in climate change adaptation and risk assessment. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge and has over 13 years of experience in multidisciplinary climate research. Her roles include leading the Catalysing Adaptation and Resilience Theme at the Tyndall Centre and contributing to initiatives like the Maximising UK Adaptation to Climate Change (MACC) Hub and the Future Fens project. She is also involved in editorial and peer-review roles for journals like Frontiers in Climate.

Her education includes a Ph.D. in Modelling the economic and social consequences of drought under future climate change from the University of Cambridge and an M.Sc. in Climate Change from the University of East Anglia.

Katie’s research focuses on integrated climate risk assessment, adaptation data utility, and economic impacts of climate hazards, particularly drought, heatwaves, and coastal flooding. She has led projects such as the OpenCLIM framework and contributed to global analyses of climate risks in vulnerable countries. Her work emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration and policy-relevant outputs.

Recent projects include place-based risk assessments in the UK Fens and transnational frameworks like the Cross-EU initiative to enhance socio-economic resilience. She teaches modules in environmental sciences and contributes to climate policy development through her roles in committees like the Royal Meteorological Society.
