Dr. Katie Farnsworth is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology, Geospatial and Earth Sciences at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), located within the Kopchick College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. Her research focuses on coastal sedimentary processes, fluvial sediment dynamics in marine environments, global sediment flux analysis, and local stormwater management issues.
She holds a BS in Geography and Computer Science from DePauw University, followed by both her MS and PhD in Marine Geology from the Virginia Institute of Marine Science/College of William and Mary.
Dr. Farnsworth teaches a broad range of geoscience courses including
