Katie Essing

Katie Essing is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Marketing Department at the Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business, University of Missouri. She teaches retail and digital marketing courses and is an alum of the Trulaske College of Business, having been a Sam Walton Scholar. Essing has over 30 years of professional experience in marketing, buying, retail, commercial real estate, and nonprofit management.

Her expertise focuses on creating sustainable retail experiences, developing live/work/play neighborhoods, and cultivating innovative urban spaces. She also specializes in traffic-building marketing campaigns and nonprofit economic development initiatives.

Essing has received multiple certifications, including Google Analytics Certified, Online Teaching Certified, and Certified Shopping Center Manager. She actively partners with the College of Business to organize the annual "Making Me Marketable" event and serves on various community boards, including the Columbia Metro Rotary Club and United Way of Central Maryland.
