Kathy Williams serves as an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing at Lipscomb University, teaching Community Health and Applied Christian Values to senior nursing students. With over 45 years of clinical experience spanning tropical disease management, cardiovascular intensive care, and home health services, she integrates real-world expertise with a strong mission-focused perspective into her academic role.
Her academic preparation includes:
- Associate of Arts in Biology from Freed-Hardeman College
- Associate of Science in Nursing (RN) from Union University
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Tennessee Martin
- Master of Science in Nursing Education from Aspen University
Williams' professional focus centers on Community Health and Global Health applications, driven by 12 years of mission service in Montreal and Nigeria followed by annual medical trips to Central/South America, Haiti, and Africa. Her field experience with tropical diseases directly informs her community health teaching approach.
She has led nursing and pharmacy student mission teams to Destin, Florida for nine years and Malawi for three years, currently serving on the College of Health Sciences Mission Committee while scouting new partnerships in the Dominican Republic. Williams remains actively engaged in mentoring through international service initiatives and is a member of North Boulevard Church of Christ in Murfreesboro, where she balances her professional commitments with family life involving her husband Randy and eleven grandchildren.
