Kathy Lobo

Kathy Lobo serves as an Adjunct Professor of Education at Brandeis University while holding a full-time ESL teaching position with Newton Public Schools in Massachusetts. She is an active leader in the TESOL community, having served as past president of MATSOL (Massachusetts TESOL affiliate) and as a member of TESOL International's Board of Directors from 2018 to 2021.

Her educational background includes:

• M.A. in Multicultural Education from Norwich University
• Exchange studies in Fine Art at Tianjin Fine Art College during the 1980s under the sister cities program between Tianjin and Philadelphia

Her research focuses on TESOL methodologies with strong integration of multicultural and art education perspectives. As a lifelong language learner of Mandarin Chinese and Japanese, she emphasizes cultural diversity and creative expression in language pedagogy, developing inclusive classroom approaches informed by her international teaching experience across U.S. public/private schools and overseas institutions.
