Kathy Almazol

Kathy Almazol is a Senior Fellow at the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics at Santa Clara University. She previously led Catholic elementary and secondary schools in the Diocese of San Jose, serving over 16,000 students through administrative roles spanning two decades.

• Developed the Drexel School System, a data-informed instructional model implemented in 12 Diocese schools
• Collaborated with clergy, technologists, and business partners at Santa Clara University
• Established School Advisory Councils to engage parents in educational leadership
• Contributed to faith formation programs under the Center's Character Education initiative

Her work focuses on ethical governance in education and data-driven curriculum design. She continues to advise principals and parent groups on institutional leadership frameworks.

Almazol has served on the Board of Directors of the Ethics Center for nine years and contributes to partnerships between Catholic schools and academic institutions.
