Kathryn Wert

Dr. Kathryn Wert is an Adjunct Professor of Music Education at Liberty University's School of Music. She serves as Associate Director of Bands and conducts the Liberty University Symphony Orchestra. Her roles include teaching applied piano, music theory, and directing ensembles. She holds a B.M. in Piano Performance from Bethel University, an M.A. in Music Education from the Eastman School of Music, and a D.A. in Wind Conducting from the University of Northern Colorado.

Her career spans music direction at theaters such as the Candlelight Dinner Playhouse (CO) and Allenberry Resort Inn (PA), and conducting operas like the Virginia premiere of The Hunchback of Notre Dame with Alluvion Stage Company. Internationally, she has performed with orchestras including the National Repertory Orchestra and Spoleto Festival Orchestra. She also taught at high schools like Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Performing Arts and led summer theater camps in New York.

Dr. Wert collaborates with programs like Lyric Italy, training voice students in Italian musical culture. Her expertise includes music education, orchestral conducting, and cross-disciplinary performance projects.
