Kathryn Spence is Director of the Peter Sammartino School of Education and Professor of Education at Fairleigh Dickinson University. A former 7-12 English teacher and coach in rural, suburban, and urban schools, she now leads teacher-preparation programs and teaches graduate courses on urban education, reading instruction, and anti-bias practice.
