Dr. Kathryn Devine is a Physics Professor at the College of Idaho, affiliated with the Mathematics & Physical Sciences Department. Her research focuses on massive star formation, utilizing ammonia and CCS emission data from infrared dark clouds (IRDCs) identified in the GLIMPSE survey. She actively engages College of Idaho students in astronomy research, offering opportunities for independent studies and hands-on experience in programming, data analysis, and scientific writing.
Dr. Devine holds a PhD in Astronomy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she also earned her MS. She completed her undergraduate studies at Carleton College with a BA degree. During her graduate career, she conducted research at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory's Very Large Array (VLA).
