Kathryn Davis

Kathryn Davis is the Hurst Writer in Residence and senior fiction writer in the Department of English at Washington University in St. Louis. An award-winning author of eight novels and a memoir, her works explore themes of history, nature, and human experience through lyrical prose.

Her research focuses on fiction writing techniques and narrative structures in contemporary literature. She examines the intersection of personal and historical narratives through imaginative storytelling.

Davis has received significant recognition including the Kafka Prize, Morton Dauwen Zabel Award, Katherine Anne Porter Award, Guggenheim Fellowship, and Lannan Foundation Literary Award for her contributions to literature.
