Kathryn Anne Walker

Kathryn Anne Walker is an Associate Professor in the Department of Practice, Sciences, and Health Outcomes Research (P-SHOR) at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. She also serves as a pain/palliative care clinical specialist at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital (MUMH). Her roles include leadership in clinical outcomes, research, and education alongside clinical practice.

Education: She holds a PharmD and completed a palliative care specialty residency at the University of Maryland. Notable credentials include being the first MedStar pharmacist to complete the AMA-sponsored Medical Education Research Certificate Program.

Research focuses on palliative care service impact, appropriate end-of-life medication use, and interdisciplinary education for healthcare providers. She pioneered pharmacist-led pain management and palliative care teams at MUMH.

Awards and Affiliations: Past president of Maryland Pain Initiative (MPI), board member of MPI and Maryland Society of Health System Pharmacists. Recognized as a Certified Pain Educator.
