Kathrin Koppe is a Senior Lecturer of German in the School of Modern Languages at the Georgia Institute of Technology, affiliated with the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts. She has been a full-time instructor since 2013 and was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2021. Her teaching spans German language courses from GRMN 1001 to advanced levels. She has developed a faculty-led study abroad program in Vienna, Austria, and directed the German LBAT (Language for Business and Technology) programs in Vienna and Berlin.
Education: B.A. in German Linguistics and Literature from Rostock University (Germany), M.A. in Applied Linguistics from Concordia University (Canada), and a Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language. Prior to Georgia Tech, she taught in Singapore and business English at Renault in Paris.
Research interests include innovative language pedagogy and study abroad immersion programs. She has received numerous teaching awards for her contributions to language education. Office hours: MWF 8:30-9:30am, 1:15-1:45pm, or by appointment.
