Kathrin Audehm

Prof. Dr. Kathrin Audehm is a faculty member at the University of Hildesheim's Institute of Social Sciences, specializing in Sociology. Her academic career includes positions at the Free University of Berlin (1999-2011) where she headed research at the Collaborative Research Center 'Cultures of the Performative', and professorships at Hildesheim in Diversity Education (2011-2012) and Educational Organization, Gender & Lifelong Learning (2013-2018). She currently leads the Hildesheim subproject in the research network 'Materiality of Gender and Pedagogical Authority'.

Her research examines:

• Ethnographic approaches to education and socialization
• Gender dynamics in institutions and popular culture
• Educational inequality mechanisms
• Ritual practices in family/school contexts
• Civil society and political engagement

She co-leads projects on DDR educational narratives and qualitative longitudinal interview methodologies.
