About
Kathleen Wickham is a Professor of Journalism at the University of Mississippi and currently serves as the International Chair of the Humanities and Social Sciences at Rennes 2 University. Her research focuses on historical journalism and civil rights-era reporting, particularly the story of Agence France-Presse reporter Paul Guihard, the only journalist killed in the United States during the civil rights movement.
She has authored the book We Believed We Were Immortal which investigates Guihard's life and death, including interviews with family members. Her work bridges international journalism history and civil rights scholarship.
