Kathleen Reddy

Dr. Kathleen Reddy is a Lecturer in Celtic and Gaelic at the University of Glasgow. Her academic work focuses on the intersection of local religious practices and Gaelic cultural expression, particularly within Catholic communities in the Western Isles of Scotland and Nova Scotian Gaelic diaspora.

She serves as course convenor and primary lecturer for the Gaelic Immersion Year program, teaching modules in Gaelic language acquisition (CertHE) and advanced cultural studies (MA). Her research emphasizes traditional Gaelic tales, proverbs, and beliefs integrated into pedagogical practice.

Recent publications include comparative analyses of Gaelic folklore and interdisciplinary studies connecting Scottish Highlands with Atlantic World networks. She holds the Award in Catholic Theological Education (2019) and contributes to Gaelic broadcast media with reflections on religious topics.
