Katherine Wakelin

Dr Katherine Wakelin is Research Fellow at University of Surrey's School of Psychology, leading an RCT investigating compassion-focused therapy to reduce perfectionism in veterinarians. Her PhD developed wellbeing interventions for healthcare students, with current work adapted for COVID-19 challenges in clinical environments.

Research Focus:

• Remote CFT protocols for professionals
• Self-compassion enhancement strategies
• Feasibility studies in occupational health contexts

Key Investigation: Randomised control trial (2022-present) funded by Mind Matters' Sarah Brown Mental Health Research Grant, evaluating CFT's effectiveness for veterinarians experiencing self-criticism and burnout.
