Katherine Nolan

Katherine Nolan is a practising architect and Design Fellow at the Department of Architecture, University of Cambridge. She co-founded Studio KA with Alex Butterworth and previously worked at David Chipperfield Architects on projects like the adaptive reuse of the American embassy in London and a seaside hotel in Belgium. She leads Studio 04 at London Metropolitan University alongside Butterworth, focusing on architectural education and design innovation.

Her professional experience includes teaching at London Metropolitan University, including a Diploma unit with Tony Fretton. Her work emphasizes adaptive reuse and contextual architectural solutions, bridging practice and academia. Nolan's affiliations include the Department of Architecture’s research networks and design studios, contributing to both educational programs and practical architectural projects.
