Katherine Lewis

Katherine Lewis is an Associate Professor in the Special Education department at the University of Washington's College of Education. Her work focuses on designing accessible educational environments for students with disabilities, particularly those with mathematics learning disabilities (dyscalculia). She adopts a disability studies approach, emphasizing societal inaccessibility over individual deficits. Lewis also explores supports for foster/adoptive parents and the role of American Sign Language in Deaf students' math learning.
