Katherine L. Bergren

Katherine L. Bergren is an Associate Professor of English at Trinity College since 2013. She holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in English from the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA) and a B.A. from Wellesley College.

Her research focuses on Romantic literature, global literary circulation, and the intersection of poetry with colonial and educational systems. Her 2019 monograph The Global Wordsworth examines transnational dimensions of William Wordsworth's influence. Current projects include analyzing amateur parodies of British poetry in American antebellum newspapers and studying Romantic poetry's role in colonial British matriculation exams.
