Katherine Harrell is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biological & Environmental Sciences at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC). She holds a B.S. in Molecular Biology and a B.A. in English Literature from Virginia Tech, and an M.S. in Developmental Physiology from Clemson University. Her teaching focuses on Anatomy, Physiology, Introductory Biology, and Wildlife Education. She coordinates Anatomy & Physiology labs and volunteers as a Class II Wildlife Rehabilitator & Educator with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA).

Research Interests: Katherine’s work spans Developmental Physiology, Behavioral Endocrinology, and Human Dimensions of Wildlife Conservation. She has studied estrogen’s role in pre-pubertal Holstein calves and contributed to research on endangered freshwater mussels and photomagnetoreception in amphibians. Her current focus integrates wildlife rehabilitation, conservation biology, and environmental science education.
Labs/Teams: She oversees Anatomy & Physiology laboratory instruction and collaborates with TWRA on wildlife rehabilitation initiatives.
