Katherine Furl

Katherine Furl is an incoming Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of North Dakota. She completed her doctoral work at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill as a graduate research affiliate at the Center for Information Technology and Public Life (CITAP). Her research employs qualitative and mixed methods to examine digital access disparities and social media's role in reinforcing gender, race, and class inequalities.

Her scholarly focus centers on:
