Katherine Casey is a Lecturer in Marketing at the University of Kent's Kent Business School. She holds a PhD from the University of Limerick, alongside MSc degrees in Financial Services and Marketing, Consumption and Society, and a BSc in Legal and Business Studies (Law Major). Her research focuses on sustainable consumption, ethical consumption practices, and the intersection of politics and marketing. Dr. Casey employs interpretivist methodologies including qualitative research, discourse analysis, and consumer ethnography.
Her research has explored topics such as small WEEE disposal, community-based sustainability initiatives, and alternative food networks. She has been recognized with the George Fisk Award for Best Paper (2014) at the Macromarketing Conference. Dr. Casey teaches Consumer Behaviour at the postgraduate level and Buyer Behaviour at the undergraduate level. She actively supervises qualitative research projects aligned with her interests in emancipatory and transformative research. Her work has been published in journals like Journal of Marketing Management and Resources, Conservation and Recycling.
