Katherine Bryan

Katherine Bryan is a distinguished flute tutor and Principal Flute of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO). She holds academic roles as a lecturer in flute at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester. Her expertise spans orchestral performance, classical music, and jazz fusion through her involvement in the Earthtones Trio.

Education: Katherine studied at the Juilliard School in New York on a full scholarship. Notable achievements include winning the Julius Isserlis Scholarship from the Royal Philharmonic Society, Young Concert Artists International Competition, and multiple BBC Young Musician of the Year finals.

Research interests focus on flute performance, orchestral techniques, and interdisciplinary music fusion. She has performed globally with orchestras like the New York Philharmonic and the London Symphony Orchestra, appearing at festivals such as the Cheltenham International Festival.
