Katherine Baker

Katherine Baker is a Clinical Professor of Entrepreneurship and Director of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at the Massry School of Business, University at Albany. Since October 2021, she has led the SBDC, overseeing programs that support entrepreneurs through mentoring, capital acquisition, and training.

• Education: BA in History from Plattsburgh State (2005)

Prior to her academic role, Baker had a decade-long career as a corporate troubleshooter in the hospitality industry. At the SBDC, she has worked with over 1,500 entrepreneurs, co-created the SEED character-based loan program, and chairs the NY SBDC Operations Committee.
