Katherine A. Gallagher

Katherine A. Gallagher is a Professor at the University of Michigan, holding dual appointments in the Department of Vascular Surgery Section and the Department of Microbiology and Immunology. She serves as the Leland Ira Doan Research Professor of Vascular Surgery and Associate Chair of her department.

Dr. Gallagher’s research focuses on impaired diabetic wound healing, exploring how epigenetic changes in bone marrow progenitor cells alter innate immune cell phenotypes and contribute to chronic inflammation. Her work aims to translate these findings into clinical applications for Type 2 Diabetes patients.
