Kathe Matrone, PhD, is a retired Senior Instructor affiliated with the Woodring College of Education at Western Washington University. Though retired, she consults for the Center for Continuing Education in Rehabilitation (CCER) at the University of Washington. Her career includes over forty years of experience in vocational rehabilitation (VR) services across Idaho, Alaska, Michigan, and Washington.
Dr. Matrone holds a Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Counselor Education from Michigan State University, an M.S. in Sociology from Utah State University, and a B.A. in Sociology from Idaho State University. She previously served as Director of the CCER and President of the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification Board of Directors.
Her expertise spans program evaluation, clinical case practice, and disability needs assessments. She has led research projects including statewide disability needs assessments and managed fiscal/human resource administration in rehabilitation programs. Her work emphasizes social justice and accessibility in rehabilitation services.
