Katharine Walker

Katharine Walker is a prehistorian and Museum Director at Corinium Museum, with academic affiliations as a lecturer at the University of Winchester and former teaching roles at the University of Bristol. Her research focuses on Neolithic northwest Europe, particularly the role of materials in identity formation and the transition from stone to metal technologies.

Specializing in stone/flint tool analysis, Katharine serves as Editor of the Implement Petrology Group's Stonechat newsletter and has worked on multi-period sites across Europe and Zambia. Her recent publications address Bell Beaker settlements, metalwork origins, and regional lithic studies.

Professional roles include archaeological curation at Hengistbury Head, fieldwork with Cotswold Archaeology, and consultancy for Oxford Archaeology, New Forest National Park Authority, and other institutions. She maintains active memberships in The Prehistoric Society, Lithics Studies Society, and Neolithic Studies Group.
