Katharine Reeve

Katharine Reeve is a Senior Lecturer Practitioner in Creative Writing and Publishing at Anglia Ruskin University's Cambridge School of Creative Industries, where she serves as Course Director for the MA Creative Writing & Publishing program. With decades of experience bridging academic and trade publishing, she brings industry expertise to her academic role.

Her educational background includes an MA in Nature & Travel Writing from Bath Spa University and a BA in History of Design from Manchester Metropolitan University.

Reeve's research focuses on non-fiction writing (particularly nature writing, memoir, and art and design), children's publishing, and the intersection of the Norfolk Broads with climate change. Her work demonstrates how creative writing and publishing can address environmental concerns while maintaining commercial viability. She has developed successful publishing degrees focused on creative innovation and industry collaboration that have launched hundreds of careers.

Her recent publications show a consistent trajectory examining editorial decision-making, the history of publishing, and the relationship between place and writing. Her forthcoming book on Puffin picture-books during WWII represents a significant contribution to publishing history.

Reeve has secured multiple research grants including the 'Living in Changing Landscapes' research group collaboration and served as Editor-in-Residence at University College London. She leads the 'Life of a Book' project and has directed the 'Social Media Experiment' for international digital media conferences, demonstrating her commitment to exploring the evolving relationship between traditional publishing and digital innovation.
