Dr Katharina Merollini is a Senior Lecturer in Health Economics at the School of Health, University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC). She holds a MSc from Friedrich-Alexander University (FAU) and a PhD (Philosophy) from Queensland University of Technology (QUT). As an HEA Associate Fellow, she contributes to teaching research methods and health economic evaluations. Her research focuses on cancer survivorship economics, health service efficiency, and cost-effectiveness analyses across diverse areas like skin cancer prevention and palliative care. Current projects include assessing lifetime cancer survivor healthcare costs (collaborating with Cancer Council Queensland) and evaluating nursing clinical placement models. She supervises PhD candidates and serves on editorial/review boards for peer-reviewed journals. Professional memberships include IHEA, HSRAANZ, and the Sunshine Coast Health Institute. Key roles include Research Coordinator for Public Health and leading the School of Health Mentoring Program.
Her HDR supervisions span topics like childhood cancer costs, colorectal cancer follow-up, and integrated stroke care.
