Katharina Hunfeld

Dr. Katharina Hunfeld is a Lecturer at the School of International Relations, University of St Andrews. Her work bridges feminist, decolonial, and Marxist frameworks to address the climate crisis and politics of temporality.

• Teaching: Convenes modules on Feminist Theories in Global Politics, Critical Perspectives on the Climate Crisis, and Peacebuilding.
• Research: Focuses on decolonial approaches to global justice, temporal dynamics in political action, and ecosocialist transitions.
• Awards: Golden Dandelion Award (2025) for innovative climate crisis pedagogy.

Her research contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4 (Quality Education) and 13 (Climate Action). She co-edits the journal Historical Materialism and organizes workshops on theoretical writing.
