Katharina Becker

Dr. Katharina Becker is Lecturer in Archaeology at University College Cork, specializing in Irish Late Bronze Age and Iron Age archaeology. Her research integrates settlement patterns, metalwork studies, and radiocarbon analysis to examine social identities and cultural change.

Key projects include 'Seeing beyond the site' analyzing later prehistoric landscapes, and investigations into climate change impacts during Bronze-Iron Age transition. She directs fieldwork on hillforts like Rathgall and publishes on deposition practices, metal sourcing, and settlement continuity.
