Kate Glasenapp

Kate Glasenapp is an Assistant Professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW), serving as Co-Director of the Weight Loss & Bariatric Surgery Program and a Nurse Practitioner at Froedtert Hospital. Her clinical and research focus centers on diabetes management (Type 1, Type 2, and comorbidity-related diabetes) and obesity care, emphasizing team-based, patient-centered approaches.

Education includes a BSN and MSN from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an Adult Nurse Practitioner certification from Marquette University, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Saint Catherine University. She holds certifications such as CDCES (Certified Diabetes Educator), BC-ADM (Board Certified-Advanced Diabetes Management), and CBN (Certified Bariatric Nurse).

Research interests include the lived experience of individuals with Type 2 diabetes and optimizing shared medical appointments for chronic disease management. She collaborates with multidisciplinary teams including dietitians, pharmacists, and specialists to support patients' holistic health.

Leadership roles include co-directing MCW's Medical Weight Loss and Bariatric Surgery Program and contributing to the Biennial Weight Management Planning Committee.
