Kate Ferguson

Dr. Kate Ferguson is Co-Executive Director and Head of Policy at Protection Approaches, and Honorary Research Fellow at the University of East Anglia. She specializes in atrocity prevention, identity-based violence, and UK foreign policy. Ferguson holds a PhD on modern mass atrocities dynamics from University of East Anglia and an MPhil in Russian and East European Studies from University of Oxford.

Her research examines command structures of mass atrocities and prevention frameworks. Recent publications analyze the Rohingya crisis and counter-extremism strategies. Ferguson has advised governments and parliaments internationally, including serving as Specialist Adviser to the UK International Development Committee.
