Kate English

Kate English is a Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Clinical Pathology at the University of Surrey, where she serves as Section Lead for Pathology and Year 2 Lead. She holds qualifications including BSc, BVetMed, PGCAP, FHEA, FRCPath, and MRCVS. Prior to joining Surrey in 2022, she worked at Battersea Dogs Home, in general veterinary practice, and at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) for over a decade, blending diagnostic pathology with teaching.

Her research specializes in Veterinary Clinical Pathology, with emphasis on diagnostic methodologies, hematology, oncology, and infectious diseases in companion animals. Her work integrates clinical case studies with epidemiological insights to advance veterinary diagnostics and therapeutic strategies.

Kate's publications span hematology, oncology, neurology, and infectious diseases, frequently focusing on cats and dogs. Her research employs clinical pathology to address conditions like cardiomyopathy, parasitic infections, and neoplasia, utilizing diagnostic cytology, hematologic analysis, and molecular techniques.

She leads the Pathology section and coordinates the second-year curriculum, contributing significantly to veterinary education and diagnostic training.
