Katarzyna Kujawska-Murphy

Prof. Katarzyna Kujawska-Murphy is the Head of the 8th Drawing Workshop at the Faculty of Painting and Drawing, University of Arts Poznan. She holds academic positions including Associate Professor and is a habilitated doctor. Her artistic research focuses on spatial and temporal perception, constructivist aesthetics, and urban psychology, expressed through installations, video art, and interdisciplinary projects.

Research interests include:
- Psychophysiology of visual perception
- Do-spatial installations
- Social aspects of urban existence
- Modernist and constructivist aesthetics

Her curatorial work includes international projects like the Regeneration Through Art festival in Poznan’s Śródka district, and a 20-year art exchange with Osaka’s A-21 group. Major collaborations involve Japanese and Polish embassies, Columbia University (NY), Kyoto University of Art, and the Kościuszko Foundation.

International engagements include exhibitions in Japan, South Korea, Germany, Italy, and New York, alongside lectures at institutions like Bauhaus Dessau and the School of Visual Arts (SVA). She co-founded the Contemporary Art Space Osaka exhibition series and regularly publishes in art catalogues and journals.
