Her work bridges taxonomy, ecology, and veterinary science, examining host-parasite relationships in wild waterfowl populations, particularly in Western Pomerania. She employs advanced statistical methods including the Akaike information criterion to analyze parasite-host dynamics and has published extensively on cestodes, nematodes, and other parasitic organisms in waterfowl.
Her scientific contributions have been recognized with multiple awards including the Individual Award from the Rector of ZUT for scientific activity in 2014 and 2012, the prestigious Medal of the Commission of National Education in 2010, and several other institutional honors. Professor Kavetska is an active member of the Polish Parasitological Society (since 1996) and the Ukrainian Scientific Parasitological Society (since 2007).
As an educator, Professor Kavetska has supervised numerous doctoral and Master's students, guiding research on waterfowl parasitology and related topics. Her laboratory serves as a center for parasitological research, focusing on the ecology and systematics of parasites in wild birds.
