Katarína Figula

Katarína Figula serves as Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Theatre Management at the Faculty of Theatre, Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (VŠMU), a position she has held since 2024. Her academic role encompasses teaching project management, festival organization, and international cultural cooperation within the Department of Theatre Management (KDM).

Her educational foundation includes:

• Cultural Studies and History at the Faculty of Arts, Comenius University in Bratislava

Dr. Figula's research integrates practical arts administration with academic theory, focusing on sustainable festival management, cross-border cultural partnerships, and strategic project development in performing arts. Her expertise bridges Eastern European and international arts ecosystems through hands-on leadership in major festivals.

She holds the prestigious Global Arts Management Fellowship from the DeVos Institute of Arts Management at the University of Maryland, recognizing her leadership potential in the field.

Academically, she supervises final theses in theatre management while maintaining active professional practice as executive director of the Bratislava in Motion festival and Slovak Dance Platform, where she oversees artistic programming, budget management, and strategic partnerships across Central Europe.
