Kasper van der Horst is a Lecturer at the Interfaculty of the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague (KABK), specializing in ArtScience. He studied photography at the School of Photography in The Hague and expanded his expertise into video, computer animation, and digital imagery during his studies. Since 1989, he has taught at the Interfaculty, initially focusing on analogue video before transitioning to digital imagery in 1993. His teaching inspired early developments in VJing and visual music, showcased at the Sonic Acts Festival in 1994.

Van der Horst’s research emphasizes dynamic video projections and interdisciplinary collaboration. Notable projects include contributions to the Holland Festival (1998) and the award-winning "Structet: Building Music" (2006), which premiered at the TodaysArt Festival. He also developed courses like Freestyle Video, Image & Sound, and MetaMedia, and collaborated on large-scale Interfaculty projects. Since 2010, he has directed multi-screen installations for Rockheim, the Norwegian pop music museum in Trondheim, including interactive 3D avatars.
