Kasimir Gregory

Kasimir Gregory is a Research Fellow in the Department of Materials Physics at The Australian National University. His research focuses on materials science, electrochemistry, and nanotechnology, with specializations in ion transport mechanisms, polymer brushes in nonaqueous electrolytes, and concentrated electrolyte behavior. Gregory's work bridges fundamental material characterization and applied electrochemical systems.

Research interests include studying solvation effects in battery electrolytes, nanopore dynamics, and rethinking traditional chemical concepts like inductive effects in haloacetates. His recent studies address gaps in understanding anomalous electrostatic screening and Hofmeister effects using advanced computational methods like symmetry-adapted perturbation theory.

Collaborations involve interdisciplinary projects with experimental and computational teams, such as finite element modeling of ionic transport and molecular-level analysis of amino acid residues. Supervision of research students is registered through the ANU system.
