Kasi Russell-Lodrigue

Kasi Russell-Lodrigue is an Associate Professor of Medicine and holds leadership roles as Associate Director, Chief Veterinary Medical Officer, and Chair of the Division of Veterinary Medicine at Tulane University. Her primary affiliations include the Tulane National Primate Research Center. She specializes in veterinary microbiology and laboratory animal medicine, with expertise in infectious disease modeling, particularly respiratory pathogens and biocontainment agents.

Dr. Russell-Lodrigue's education includes a DVM from Louisiana State University (2000), a PhD in Veterinary Microbiology from Texas A&M (2006), and postdoctoral training in microbial pathogenesis. Her research focuses on animal models for infectious diseases, including Q fever, tuberculosis, and SARS-CoV-2. She has contributed to studies on vaccine development, viral pathogenesis, and immune responses in non-human primates.
