Karsten Kluth

Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Karsten Kluth is a distinguished faculty member at the University of Siegen, affiliated with the Faculty of Science and Technology and the Department of Mechanical Engineering. His work is centered on ergonomics and industrial engineering, with a strong focus on the physiological foundations of human work.

His research interests lie at the intersection of human physiology and work systems. He has made significant contributions to ergonomics, occupational physiology, and industrial engineering, particularly through his leadership in academic forums and international organizations. He has been instrumental in fostering young scientists in the field.

Prof. Kluth has received prestigious recognition, including the Honorary Membership from the Society for Industrial Engineering (GfA), awarded in recognition of his outstanding contributions. He has served on the GfA board for twelve years and represented Germany in the International Ergonomics Association and the Centre for Registration of European Ergonomists.

He is actively involved in academic service, serving as co-editor of both German and American journals and as co-organizer of the annual conference of the Ergonomics Competence Network e.V. His leadership extends to mentoring doctoral candidates and shaping national and international discourse in ergonomics.
