Karoline Daugstad

Karoline Daugstad is a Professor of Human Geography specializing in landscape geography at NTNU's Department of Geography and Social Anthropology. She currently leads NTNU's strategic focus area 'Community' (2024-2031) and previously served as Head of Department (2013-2017) and Vice-Dean for Research at the Faculty of Social and Educational Sciences (2017-2021). Her research focuses on landscape management, cultural heritage, mountain agriculture, and climate change impacts, with projects in Norway, Austria, and northern Spain.

Key research themes include resilience in mountain farming systems, cultural sustainability of heritage sites (e.g., Vega World Heritage Site), and the intersection of tourism and agriculture.
